Sixth Edition Unit Types: Artillery

Day five of the unit overview: Artillery. I'll be up front here and admit I'm not a huge fan of Artillery. Too many things can go wrong with the unit. This is why despite loving the Thunderfire Cannon, I'd rather go with a Land Raider Achilles to get one despite the cost being 3 times as much. Besides, the Land Raider Achilles simply looks amazing. But I can't just go without covering the unit type if I've done the rest, so here goes.

Sixth Edition Unit Types: Infantry

This week I'm going to cover the various unit types you'll find in Warhammer 40,000 6th Edition. I'll break down what they can do in each phase and how this differs from 5th Edition. Let's start this off with the most basic: Infantry.

Sisters of Battle: The Exorcist

Mood: Peeved

So I understand why people insist on doing it. It is a really awesome looking model. A tank that rolls across the field of battle and shoot missiles from a PIPE ORGAN?! Oh yeah. Gimme some of that. Two preferably. Three if you can swing it.

However there is something I need to clear up. Its weapon, the Exorcist Missile Launcher, is a very simple weapon. 48", Strength 8, AP1, Heavy D6. That is the entire profile. No, it is not a Blast weapon. No, it is neither Ordnance nor Barrage.

Learn to Play 40k, Newb: Monstrous Creatures

I'm still fairly new to this game, so I'm still learning things. When reading over the entry for the Swarmlord, I was a little underwhelmed by the wording on Bonesabres. Specifically that they aren't Power Weapons in effect as Bone Swords are. So I looked it up on the Internet to see if someone else noted the missing words. I was also suspicious of the lack of Rending Claws for Trygons and kin.

Fun Fact! I'm a newb. So Monstrous Creatures? Far scarier than I thought. They come with built in Super Rending rules. I was aware of the extra d6 against vehicles, but I managed to glaze over sentence immediately prior in the rulebook. Built into Monstrous Creatures rules:

Move Through Cover
Shoot 2 Weapons + Relentless
Can't Go to Ground
50% Cover Rule Like Vehicles
Ignore Armor in Assault
+d6 Armor Penetration

Scary.
